SUMMARY

Topic: Evaluation and control in marketing.
Guest Speakers:

1. Saif-uddin Khan
Marketing Specialist, Telenor, Pakistan.

2. Muhammad Ali
Head of Marketing, Total Media Limited, Pakistan.

Mr. Saif-uddin said that marketing is one step behind the selling. It’s the point where we convince the buyer to buy the product. You are not selling but actually you are selling some thing. Marketing is like an engine of company which drives the company. Marketing is not an easy job today because the customers have enough information about the market and customers have a lot of choices today. If a man is using U-fone sim whatever I tell him about Telenor and the services Telenor is providing he will do whatever he wants. Marketing is a point where you talk with the customer so you have to be well dressed and in a good position because if you are not so the customer will think what type of person he is.
If you are marketing in a region so for that firstly you have to be enough data about that region the income level, culture of that area and the mind level of that region. In marketing you have to check the liking and disliking of people before launching any product for them If we advertise our PERSONA’S billboard in Comitte Chowk then it will not be feasible for the exact target market because the consumer in that particular area is mostly related to pre-pay.
Telenor before providing services in Pakistan they spent a whole year in studying the culture of Pakistan and after knowing the income level we provide the easy load service which gives us a very positive reply. Brand is like a Jet engine until you fuel your brand it will be growing the point you stop fueling your brand you will loose your brand. A few years before PTC and PTCL are only the market player in Pakistan but they did not go with the market changes and they stop fueling their brand. Because of which they remains behind. Mr. Muhammad Ali had done his MBA from America in marketing. According to him marketing in Pakistan is totally different hear from America. You learn marketing through your experience and through your observation. In marketing should always attack on your competitors in this way you will be successful.
