It was an honor for the Bioinformatics Department of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad Campus, that eleven (11) students were enrolled in international projects during summer 2007.
Mehreen Ali a Bio-informatics student worked on the project titled Phlyogenetic analysis of Hexon genes, DNA polymerase genes and E1A proteins from selected serotypes of human adenoviruses. This project was supervised by Dr.Donald Seto, Associate Professor, George Mason University, USA, and Dr.Sahar Fazal, Assistant Professor, of this University Islamabad.

The Development & Implementation of mitochondrial energy metabolism model to analyze the Ca+ signaling affect modulated by Na+ & H+ was the project assigned to Mohammad Suleiman Nawaz and Hina Tariq. The project was supervised by Dr. Saleet Jafri Chairperson Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, George Mason University, USA and Dr.Sahar Fazal, Assistant Professor.

Designing Computational Model for Mutations in Ryanodine Receptor RyR2 was the project assigned to Nighat Noureen and Sana Zahra. This project was also supervised by Dr. Saleet Jafri, Chairperson Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, George Mason University, USA and Dr.Sahar Fazal, Assistant Professor of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad.

Two students of the Bio-informatics department Natasha Zafar Ahmed Kundi, and Amna Javed, were assigned this summer project, Statistical Analysis of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae through K-Means Clustering. Dr. Alberto de la Fuente, Senior Scientist, CRS4 Bioinformatica, Sardinia, Italy, and Dr.Sahar Fazal, Assistant Professor, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad, Pakistan, were the supervisors for this project.

Understanding Coregulation of Genes through Hierarchial Clustering was a project supervised by Dr. Alberto de la Fuente, Senior Scientist, CRS4 Bioinformatica, Sardinia, Italy, and Dr.Sahar Fazal, Assistant Professor, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad, Pakistan.

The students enrolled for project were Sadaf Aqil and Sabeena Humayun. For this project, Analyzing Gene Expression (AGE) MCL Based Gene Expression Analysis and Visualization Tool, the students involved were Mohammad Ammad-ud-Din, and Nighat Noureen. The project was supervised by Dr. Alberto de la Fuente, Senior Scientist, CRS4 Bioinformatica, Sardinia, Italy, and Dr.Sahar Fazal, Assistant Professor, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad.

Students Enrolled for project, Analysis of Gene Expression Using Biclustering Algorithms, were Syeda Zahra Hassan, Nadia Kulsoom, and Sana Zahra. They were supervised by Dr. Alberto de la Fuente, Senior Scientist, CRS4 Bioinformatica, Sardinia, Italy, and Dr.Sahar Fatal, Assistant Professor, of this University.
