It is indeed a great honor for me to welcome you in the 5th Convocation of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad. This auspicious event has come at a time when we have just about to complete ten years of dedicated service in the field of education. The University is a project of Punjab Group of Colleges. The group after having experienced success of over 50 Education Establishments across the Country added two Universities, and Mohammad Ali Jinnah University is one of those.
The University over the years emerged as an impressive center of higher learning with extremely learned faculty members and teaching staff. It is heartening to mention that MAJU has come a long way since its modest beginning in 1989 from few subjects to two full fledged faculties comprising five departments including those of Engineering, Computer Sciences, Bioinformatics, Management and Humanities.
Our professional degrees are approved by the respective bodies of the Country who are responsible to maintain standards and qualities in academic institutions. To stay at par with the requirements of higher learning, the University provides a conducive environment for promoting and conducting research.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the dynamics of higher education have gone under major changes in recent years. Now it is expected from the universities to provide leadership in all aspects of human endeavors. The fact that today more than five hundred students will be graduating speaks volumes and our contribution towards the knowledge based economy of the Country.
