According to recent surveys and rankings, the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University is ranked as one of the best Engineering institutions in Islamabad. This is because of the competent faculty, research in emerging technologies, upgraded operational units and improved ways of teaching and learning.
The Department of Electronic Engineering has the honor of conducting seminars and workshops by renowned personalities from the industry sector and academia. The “ideas” Project Exhibition along with Paper and Poster Competition is also a flagship event of technical and research activities of the Department of Electronic Engineering.
This mega technical event is scheduled to be held annually in collaboration with the IEEE. This time the “ideas” Project Exhibition and Paper and Poster Competition was held on 29 June 2009. Project Exhibition is also one of the best learning methods in which a student learns how to demonstrate and present one’s products to the market. Project Exhibition also provides an opportunity to the University to maintain a strong liaison with the professionals and experts in the industry.
The event successfully provided the platform for final-year students to exhibit their final-year projects and share their innovations through paper writing and poster designing. Competitions for the best project, best poster and best paper were also held. The event was organized by Dr. Noor M. Khan Associate Professor, and the judges were, Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed Executive Vice President, Dr. Imtiaz A. Taj Professor, Dr. Amir Qayum Professor, Dr. Nayyer Masood Head of Department Computer Science and Bioinformatics and Dr. Raza Samar.
The project titled “Trajectory Control of Robotic Arm using Kinematics” by Zain Munir Bin Tariq, Basit Manzoor Abbasi, and M. Ihtaram ul Haq was declared the Best Project; the paper titled “Mobile Jammer” by Mohsin Ali, Jawad Ahmed, and Abdullah Farooq was acknowledged as the Best Paper; and the poster titled “Level Flight Controller: Theoretical Part” by Syed Usama Ali and Athar Waseem was acclaimed the Best Poster. |
