Research Activities in Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, as one of the top educational institutes of the country, is making extremely good progress in this area. The strength of our university lies in the quality of our faculty. In Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences (FEAS) alone, we have more than 12 full time PhD faculty members qualified from the top universities around the world. In addition to vast academic experience, most of the faculty members have rich industrial experience, which enables them to be in touch with the current industrial trends and model the curriculum according to the latest requirements of the technical job market.
To promote research activities in the university, a number of research groups have been established and most of the faculty members are now fully engaged in promoting the activities of their respective research groups. Through these research groups our faculty is able to transfer hands on knowledge to their students and enable them to practice their technical skills through engaging them in different research projects as research assistants. A healthy number of research publications are produced every year by these groups in journals and conferences of international repute. However, the emphasis is not only to contribute academically but also to be productive in the applied research side. These research groups have become very productive in applied research activities. This is evident from the fact that a number of research grants have been awarded to these groups in the last two years from reputable organizations like ICT R&D Fund. Moreover, some groups have initiated projects in collaboration with the local industry or leading technical organizations of the country to contribute in the indigenization and economic prosperity of our country.
